VoIP in Ireland
In recent months I've been looking into replacing my standard line (provided by Eircom) with a VoIP service that provies incoming calls...I started off with Skype but sadly as good as it is it doesn't allow incoming calls in Ireland infact they've only started testing Incoming calls in the USA, France, China and the UK last month :(
So today I found out about Blueface.ie, it allows incoming calls via local numbers provided to Dublin, Galway & Waterford city and when it finally goes live it will assign the new 076 VoIP prefix to all users on its freedom basic and freedom plus packages. I've been testing it for the past few hours and I have to say overall I'm extremely impressed as the sound quality is very good and with the exception of a very slight delay its better then Skype.
I called their tech support twice so far and its been all good, I've been informed that I can port my current landline phone number to my VoIP service if I wish (this takes a max of 16 days apparently properly longer as Eircom have to do the admin work)
